{"id":27827,"date":"2020-11-18T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-11-18T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oecd-opsi.org\/?post_type=publication&#038;p=27827"},"modified":"2023-01-31T17:07:43","modified_gmt":"2023-01-31T16:07:43","slug":"global-trends-2020-upskilling","status":"publish","type":"publication","link":"https:\/\/oecd-opsi.org\/publications\/global-trends-2020-upskilling\/","title":{"rendered":"Embracing Innovation in Government: Global trends 2020 &#8211; Upskilling and investing in people"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-opsi-progress-tracker opsi-progress-tracker\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-opsi-progress-section opsi-progress-section\" data-title=\"Introduction to 2020 trends\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Introduction to 2020 trends<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under normal circumstances, the OECD Observatory of Public Sector Innovation (<strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/oecd-opsi.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">OPSI<\/a><\/strong>) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation (<strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mbrcgi.gov.ae\/en\" target=\"_blank\">MBRCGI<\/a><\/strong>) issue an annual report on key trends in government innovation. However, 2020 was not a normal year. Like the governments with whom we collaborate, much of our attention shifted to the COVID-19 crisis.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The focus for 2020 still intended to report on emerging trends that we uncovered, and to tell the stories of innovators who are working to make a difference in how government serves its people.
